Sukma IED blast: Rajnath Singh pours condolence to Kin of martyred jawans

NEW DELHI: Eight CRPF persons were martyred and 10 others wounded today in a Maoist attack when their Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV) blew up in the agitated Sukma district of Chhattisgarh's Bastar area.

Four of the injured persons are said to be in serious condition.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the attack and spoke to DG CRPF India regarding the Sukma incident.

“Today’s IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh is deeply distressing. I bow to each and every security personnel who attained martyrdom while serving the nation, “Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted.

“My heartfelt condolences to the families of those personnel who lost their lives in Sukma blast. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured jawans. I spoke to DG @crpfindia regarding the Sukma incident and asked him to leave for Chhattisgarh, “ he further tweeted.

The attack held in Kistaram when the CRPF personnel were out on a blow-dry operation on the MPV. The team of CRPF jawans of thw 212 battalions was attacked by rebels.They used heavy explosives to blow up the vehicle and had triggered several IEDs, police officials said confirming that eight personnel were taken life in the blast.
