New Delhi: India's star badminton player Sumit Nagal has achieved the best ranking of his career. This 22 year old young player from Haryana has got 159th ranking. Nagla lost in the first round of the US Open to Banja Luka ATP Challenger. Earlier in the previous rankings, Nagal improved by 16 places. In the US Open, Nagal won the first set in the first round against Switzerland's legendary Roger Federer, but lost 6-4, 1-6, 2-6, 4-6.
Prajnesh Gunneswaran is the only Indian retained in the top 100. He has reached the 82nd position with a three-position improvement. Ramkumar Ramanathan is at the 179th position after losing three places. In doubles, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan remain in 43rd and 49th position respectively. While Leander Paes is ranked 78th with a place improvement. Ankita Raina is the top Indian in the WTA rankings with 191th place. Pranjala Yadlapalli is ranked 338th. Let me tell you that Sumit Nagal's father inspired him to play tennis.
