New Delhi: people are facing problems due to the scorching heat in the entire country. The meteorological department on Sunday warned of continued intensified heatwaves in northern India's ground areas, central and southern India for the next 48 hours. The relief can be expected after two days. However, slower eastern winds have also given signs of a decrease in hot winds in some places.

As per information received from sources, North India is reeling under heat on Sunday as well. A farmer died due to heat wave in Sikar, Rajasthan. In Churu, where the maximum temperature was 48.9 °c, Ganganagar and Bikaner were 48.6 degrees and 48.1 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature at Bhiwani in Haryana has reached 45.6 degrees, Hisar at 45 degree Celsius.

with this, the maximum mercury in the capital was 42.5 degrees, Chandigarh 41.5 degrees Celsius. In Punjab, Patiala, Ludhiana and Amritsar were recorded 43 degree, 43.6 and 43.8 degree mercury respectively. The maximum mercury recorded in Jammu was 42.5 degrees.   The pre-monsoon rains between the months of March to May in India have been the weakest after seven years. So far this year, only 99 mm of water has been recorded during the pre-monsoon as compared to 212 mm of rainfall last year.
