Crude oil prices continue to fall in the international market. Currently, Brent crude oil is around $ 91 per barrel, but amid the fall in crude oil prices, the prices of petrol and diesel across the country remain the same today, on 18 September. According to the rates released by Indian oil companies, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the national market. According to the latest update of Indian petroleum marketing company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), the cheapest petrol and diesel is being sold in Port Blair. Where the price of petrol is Rs 84.10 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 79.74 per litre. 

Earlier on May 22, the central government had cut the excise duty on petrol and diesel. After which there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in all the states except Maharashtra. In July, the Maharashtra government gave minor relief to the people of the state by reducing the VAT on petrol and diesel.
