Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, Sept 1, directed officials to take strict action against officials of Noida Authority, who are accused in alleged irregularities in construction of twins towers in Supertech Emerald Court, according to official reports.

The chief minister also directed officers to register criminal case against guilty persons, if need be, as he reviewed the matter in Lucknow, an official spokesperson said.

The action comes a day after the SC ordered demolition of 40-storey twin towers being constructed in Noida's Sector 93A. The court also lashed the Noida Authority, pointing out multiple incidents of collusion of its officials with Supertech and violations of norms by the realty major in construction of the twin towers.

The top court ordered that towers be razed within 3 months for violation of building norms in ''collusion" with district officials, holding that illegal construction has to be dealt with strictly to ensure compliance with the rule of law.
