In a significant development ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Nilokheri, Amar Singh, has extended his support to Congress candidate Dharampal. The Haryana Congress emphasized that this move strengthens Congress's position as the main hope for the state.

In a social media post, the Haryana Congress said, "The decision of Amar Singh ji and his supporters from Nilokheri Assembly, led by Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Partap Bajwa ji, to support Congress candidate Dharampal ji shows that Congress is the biggest hope of Haryana."

With voting scheduled for October 5, major political parties, including the BJP, Congress, JJP, INLD, AAP, and BSP, are intensifying their campaigns to gather voter support.

Nuh has recently been a focal point due to the unrest that occurred during the riots in July and August 2023. Congress's Aftab Ahmed, who won the Nuh seat in 2019, is contesting again, while the BJP has fielded Sanjay Singh, who had previously won the Sohna seat in the last elections.

On October 2, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed confidence that the BJP would make history by securing a third consecutive term in the state. "The BJP will be creating a record, as no other party has achieved a third consecutive term in Haryana. Congress has only managed two terms and could not secure a third," Khattar said.

Voting for Haryana's 90 Assembly constituencies will be held on October 5, from 7 AM to 6 PM, with vote counting scheduled for October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 40 of the 90 seats and formed a coalition government with the JJP, which secured 10 seats. The Congress finished with 31 seats.
