In the court, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis got a big relief in two criminal cases related to the election affidavit. The court has accepted the demand of hearing in open court on the review petition of Devendra Fadnavis. After this, the hearing of the electoral affidavit case will now be held in open court, as Fadnavis had demanded.

For your information, tell us that the Supreme Court had ordered the trial court of Nagpur to run the trial in the case of Fadnavis' 2014 election affidavit hiding the information of two criminal cases. However, now the court has agreed to the demand of Fadnavis' reconsideration petition i.e. open court hearing. Last year, Nagpur police also sent summons to Fadnavis. Due to the information, the matter gained momentum when the new Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra was sworn in. Please tell that Fadnavis is an MLA from Nagpur.

On November 1, an application was heard by a magistrate court seeking criminal proceedings against the BJP leader for allegedly not disclosing. City lawyer Satish Ukke had filed an application in the court demanding that criminal proceedings be initiated against Fadnavis. The Bombay High Court had rejected his plea on an earlier order of the lower court. But on 1 October, the Supreme Court directed the magistrate's court to proceed with the application filed by UK. On November 4, the magistrate's court said that the matter would be treated as a criminal case and a notice would be issued.
