The Supreme Court has adjourned the matter on the entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses till Thursday on Goa government's intervention application seeking to admit students to medicine and dentistry degree courses through the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) in 2016-17.

According to sources, The state government's argument was heard on Tuesday by a special bench of Supreme Court.

Goa wants to join the National Eligibility and Entrance Test in 2017-18 and not during the upcoming academic session.

"Goa students were mentally prepared to answer the GCET and it is difficult for them to come to terms at the last minute with the fact that they have to answer the NEET", State officials said

As per the orde first phase of NEET held on May1 and the second phase to be held on 24 july.

By the recent SC judgment,around 3,500 students from Goa, who aspire for MBBS and BDS their seats are affected.
