New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tussle with Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government, the Center has termed Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's statement as completely wrong, in which he said that 'central government officials do not attend meetings with the Delhi government.' The Center said this during a hearing in the Supreme Court. The Center said that whenever meetings have been called, the officers of the Central Government attended those meetings. The Center has said that Delhi is a Union Territory and the Central Government has the right to control the services in the Union Territories.

The Central Government told the Supreme Court that Delhi has an assembly since 1993, but to date, no other government has made this allegation, which is being leveled by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Even before this, there have been governments of different parties at the Center and in Delhi, but such allegations have never been seen before, which have been noticed now. In fact, Manish Sisodia, while giving an affidavit in the Supreme Court on November 9, had accused the Central Government that the officers of the Center do not attend the meetings with the Delhi Government. Violates the orders of ministers and does not even pick up their phones. Sisodia had said that the officers of the central government do not behave properly with the elected government of Delhi.

Sisodia told the court that, 'Lt Governor VK Saxena has derailed governance in Delhi by encouraging obstinate attitude of civil servants towards the elected government. The problem has become even bigger with the appointment of the LG earlier this year.' The AAP government had said that the unconstitutional and undemocratic encroachment on the powers of the elected government has made governance challenging and difficult for the elected government in Delhi. At the same time, the Center told the apex court on Monday that it has filed a fresh petition to refer the matter related to the constitutional issue related to the control of services in Delhi to a larger bench.
