New Delhi: The country's largest court on Friday questioned the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Zakat Foundation whether it wanted to interfere in the Sudarshan TV case, as it accused its Indian branch of getting financial assistance from terrorism-related organisations from abroad. Let us say that the Zakat Foundation provides training to Muslim candidates desirous of joining the administrative service.

Senior advocate Sanjay Hegde, who was present on behalf of the Zakat Foundation in front of a bench of Justice D y Chandchud, Justice Indu Malhotra and Justice km Joseph, said that in the affidavit filed by Sudarshan TV, his client has been charged with taking donations from abroad. Hegde said that his client is a charitable organization that also helps non-Muslims and that such social service is not known even at the government level. The bench told Hegde that the Foreign Donation Regulation Act (FCRA) papers have been submitted on behalf of the TV channel on the donations received from abroad and it is up to its client whether he wants to interfere in the matter or not.

Hegde said that zakat foundation does not operate any hospitality programme and only pays fees for ISS coaching. Let me tell you that the Supreme Court is hearing a complaint against sudarshan Channel's programme ' Bindas Bol '. The promo of the programme claims that it will disclose the conspiracy to infiltrate Muslims into the administrative service, against which a complaint has been lodged.
