NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court is likely to hear the BCCI board of control and Lodha committee today. As per the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, the BCCI has not been elected so far and is functioning by the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators ( COA). There is speculation that the BCCI election may be delayed this time too.

The date for the BCCI elections was fixed on October 22 before Thursday's hearing, but given the current scenario, it does not appear that the elections will be held on time. Not only that, the BCCI and the Lodha Committee are yet to meet the supreme court's list till Wednesday evening.

It is also because Judge S.A. Bobde, who is involved in the BCCI case, is part of the five-judge Constitutional Bench on the Ayodhya case, which is scheduled to be heard continuously. On the other hand, Vinod Rai, head of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA), said on Monday that 26 state associations have fully adopted the new constitution of the BCCI.

Vinod Rai said that violation of any constitutional rule will disqualify state associations from elections but lawyers and state associations of the supreme court say that the decision is not within the jurisdiction of the COA but within the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. The COA has been given the task to tell the court how many state associations have complied with the CONSTITUTION of the BCCI.
