New Delhi: In the famous Sabarimala temple case of Kerala, the Kerala government has bluntly stated that it will not stop women visiting the temple, but there is no plan to protect them. On Thursday, the apex court referred the matter to a seven-judge bench. The Supreme Court had earlier ruled in favor of the women and allowed them to enter the temple. But reconsideration petitions were filed against the verdict, on which the court pronounced the verdict and sent it to the seven-judge bench.

Kadakampally Surendran, a minister for temple affairs in Kerala, has said that "The state government will not provide protection to any women entering the temple. Social activists like Trupti Desai should not consider Sabarimala temple as a medium to show their power. If they want police protection, they have to bring an order from the top court."

In a press conference, Minister Surendran has said that the government will not encourage women to enter the temple by breaking the gate. The temple should be kept as it is. The government wants peace. On Thursday, The Supreme Court had submitted a review petition filed in Sabarimala to women of all age groups to a larger bench.
