New Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed the demand for postponement of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2022) examination. After the hearing, the court said that postponing the examination at the last minute could lead to chaos. The exam is now 2 days or 48 hours away. In such a situation, the court has rejected the demand to stay the examination.

After the apex court's decision, the exam will now be held on a predetermined schedule. The GATE exams are scheduled to be held on February 05, 06, 12 and 13. The admit cards of the exam have also been released. Students can also use their admit card as a curfew pass. Travel passes for the exam have also been issued. GATE is a recruitment-cum-entrance examination conducted mainly by some public sector companies for engineering and science graduates for admission and recruitment to postgraduate courses.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is the organizing body for GATE 2022. The exam will be held in two slots. The first slot will be from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second slot will run between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
