Puri: Jagannath Rath Yatra will be taken out on 12th July at its scheduled time. According to the apex court order, the Rath Yatra will be taken out only in Puri. That will also be within a limited scope. The Supreme Court has stayed the removal of Rath Yatras across the State of Odisha in the wake of the rising havoc of corona delta plus variants and fears of a third wave.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking to take out Rath Yatra across the state. The petitions filed also sought permission to take out Rath Yatras in Baripada, Sasang, and other cities of Odisha, but the Supreme Court was not allowed to take out Rath Yatras.  The Odisha government had allowed Rath Yatra only in Puri a few days ago in view of the spread of coronavirus infection. All others were allowed to perform rituals in the temple complex of Jagannath temples. But devotees of Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking permission to take out Rath Yatras in Baripada, Sasang, and other cities of Odisha.

Tell us that Shri Jagannathji, Balbhadraji, and Subhadraji are worshipped in the temple of Jagannath Puri. This temple was built by King Chodgang Dev in the 12th century. The architecture of the temple is Kalinga style. During the Rath Yatra, Shri Jagannathji, Balbhadraji, and Subhadraji sit in separate chariots and go to Gundicha temple, three kilometers away from their aunt's house, the entire temple. They stay there for 8 days and come back to the entire temple.
