34-year-old case against Navjot Sidhu reopens, hearing underway in Supreme Court

New Delhi: The supreme court has begun hearing against former Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu. The road rage case against Sidhu is being heard. They had a dispute in 1988, about 34 years ago, over parking in Patiala. In which an elderly man's life was lost. In this case, the top court had earlier let Sidhu off with a fine of One thousand rupees. The aggrieved party has filed a review petition against it.

Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi has appeared on behalf of Sidhu. He told the court that it was a 34-year-old case. The conviction in the case was stayed by the apex court, which was ordered in detail. The court said what does this have to do with today's hearing? Earlier, the top court had deferred the hearing in the case to four days. In the case, Sidhu had asked the court not to punish him in the 1988 Road Rage Case. While it has been said on behalf of the petitioner that it is wrong to just invoke the section of assault. Because the old man who was injured was not slightly injured.

In this case, Navjot Singh Sidhu had said that in the last three decades, his political and sports career has been unblemished. There has also been an unmatched record as an MP.
