Kochi: In Kerala a few days ago there was a lot of ruckus about the case of feeding explosive substance to a pregnant elephant. She died in this incident. A petition was filed in the Supreme court seeking a Central Investigation Agency (CBI) inquiry into the matter. Hearing this petition, the apex court has issued notices to 12 states including Kerala.

The apex court has also issued a notice to the central government. A petition was filed in the apex court, demanding the investigation of the case under the supervision of the court, the CBI or a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The petition said that the way a pregnant elephant died due to a cracker-filled pineapple is a terrible, tragic, cruel, and inhumane act."

In Kerala, a pregnant elephant was injured due to being fed explosive-filled pineapple. Her jaw was bleeding. She was standing in a river. She died standing in the water of the river for almost three days.
