New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday (January 25, 2022) has issued notices to the Center and the Election Commission on the misuse of government funds by political parties to woo voters. In fact, a public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of registration and forfeiture of their election symbols, which are promising to provide free facilities to the voters.

Let us inform that voting will be held for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa and Punjab next month. In such a situation, many political parties are luring voters with illogical free 'gifts' from government funds. Among these parties, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headed by Arvind Kejriwal and the Samajwadi Party (SP) are at the top. AAP has promised free electricity and other facilities to the voters of Goa and Punjab. At the same time, AAP is also making farmers' loan waiver a big issue in the elections.

AAP President Arvind Kejriwal made several election announcements in Goa. Kejriwal had said that if he was formed, then under the home base scheme for all the women here, he would increase it from Rs 1500 to Rs 2500 every month. 1000 rupees per month will be provided to every woman above 18 years of age. Apart from this, AAP President had said that if our government is formed in Goa, then like Delhi, we will give electricity free of cost to the people here. Will give employment to the youth and till they get employment, unemployment allowance will be provided.

At the same time, following the footsteps of Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav made a big announcement before the UP elections, promising 300 units of electricity free to domestic electricity consumers. Apart from this, it was said that farmers would be given electricity for irrigation free of cost.
