New Delhi: Another petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the triple talaq law. On the petition of the Muslim Advocate Association, the apex court has issued a notice to the Center and combined the matter with other petitions. Earlier on August 23, the apex court had refused to discuss on the triple talaq law, giving relief to the central government, but now the Supreme Court has agreed to test the validity of the triple talaq law.

On this, a notice has been issued to the Central Government seeking an answer. Earlier, in a petition filed against this law in the Supreme Court in August, it was said that this law violates the fundamental rights found under Sections 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution, therefore, this law should be declared unconstitutional.

This petition has been filed by the entire Kerala Jamiatul Ulema against the triple talaq law in the Supreme Court. 'All Kerala Jamiatul Ulema' is a group of Sunni Muslim scholars and clerics in Kerala. After coming to power at the Center for the second time in a row, the Modi government had passed a bill in Parliament against triple talaq to give justice to Muslim women, which has now become law.
