Supreme court to setup inquiry panel in Vikas Dubey encounter case

Kanpur: High court constitutes a panel in the Kanpur for shootout case of Uttar Pradesh. The apex court on Tuesday heard the petitions demanding an investigation on the encounter of Gangster Vikas Dubey and aides. The court said that Vikas Dubey and his associates are investigated within a panel headed by the former judge in case of the murder of 8 policemen.

The Yogi government stated in the court that they will file a status report in connection with the encounter, and the court will hear the case on 20 July. Significantly, on July 2, the police team was attacked by Vikas Dubey and his gang in Bikaru village in Kanpur. In this, 8 policemen including CO were killed. On the 7th day of the incident, on July 9, the MP police arrested Vikas from the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. T

ADG informed that there are 21 named accused in the Kanpur shootout case. Of these, Shyam Dubey, Dayashankar Agnihotri, and Shashikant Dubey have been arrested. Six crooks including the main accused Vikas Dubey have been killed in the encounter. The investigations of 11 accused are on. A case has been registered against the in-charge and SI of Chaubepur police station also.
