New Delhi: Amid the ongoing political upheaval in Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demand for floor test will now be heard in the top court at 10.30 am on Wednesday. The apex court also served notice to the Kamal Nath government of Madhya Pradesh. 10 MLAs, including former CM and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan, filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Monday.

The BJP has claimed that the Kamal Nath government has come in a minority and the Congress does not have the constitutional right to run the government. In this situation, a majority of the legislative assembly should be conducted immediately. Earlier, Governor Lalji Tandon has written a second letter to the CM on Monday and directed to conduct a majority test today. After the Governor's address on the first day of the budget session yesterday, the speaker, postponing the coronavirus, postponed the assembly proceedings till 26 March.

Earlier, on 14 March, the governor asked CM Kamal Nath to conduct a majority test on 16 March. However, on Sunday night Kamal Nath met him and told that there will be no majority test on Monday. It is said that the governor was angry with this matter. He returned to the Raj Bhavan from the Legislative Assembly in just 12 minutes after the first day of the budget session.
