Prisoners released during corona period will have to surrender, Supreme Court issues order

New Delhi: Today the Supreme Court has ordered the surrender of 2674 undertrials from all over the country. These prisoners will have to surrender within 15 days. The top court has given an order in this regard on Monday. These prisoners were granted bail due to the lockdown imposed during the corona epidemic. They were asked by the High Court to surrender in a phased manner between November 2 and 13, 2020.

Now the top court has ordered all these prisoners to be surrendered. These prisoners were released due to corona, but due to the reduced risk of corona, they have been ordered to go back to jail. On the other hand, after the arrival of 15,510 new cases of corona in India in one day, the number of infected people in the country has exceeded 1.11 crore. At the same time, the number of under-treated patients has increased for the fifth consecutive day and it has reached 1,68,627.

According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o'clock on Monday morning, cases of infection have increased to 1,11,12,241 in the country. At the same time, after the death of 106 more patients, the number of those who died has increased to 1,57,157. According to the data, with a total of 1,07,86,457 people becoming infection-free, the recovery rate of patients in the country rose to 97.07 percent. On the other hand, the death rate from covid-19 is 1.41 percent. Currently, 1,68,627 people are undergoing treatment for corona virus infection, which is 1.52 percent of the total cases.
