Guwahati: The Supreme Court has ordered the completion of the National Citizen Register (NRC) in Assam by August 31. A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has asked Assam NRC coordinator Pratik Hazela to complete the work as soon as possible regardless of the criticisms. Because people will continue to speak on the NRC.

It is worth mentioning that 40 lakh people were out in the NRC draft released last year. These were people who could not produce evidence about their citizenship at that time. He has been given the opportunity to submit documents to be included in the NRC list later. All eyes are now on the data of the National Citizen Register, which is going to be finally published. The question is whether all 40 lakh people will be deported or all people will be taken as Indian citizens after testing the documents.

Home Minister Amit Shah has said at election rallies that those who fail to prove their citizenship will be deported. After the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the final list of the NRC is now expected to be uproar. Because a large number of people are going to be out of the country for want of papers. Sources say that all rights they get will be taken away till the intruders are immediately evicted.
