New Delhi: The corona epidemic figures in the country have certainly come down, but the crisis still persists. The rate of corona infection in north Indian states has declined considerably, while corona cases are continuously being reported in south Indian states. Cases of corona infection are also looking to grow rapidly in Kerala. Meanwhile, the Kerala government's decision to allow the opening of markets and shops on the occasion of Bakrid has been challenged in the apex court.

The Kerala government has filed its reply in the Supreme Court late on Monday night in the case. In its reply, the government has said that it has taken all possible steps to address the problems of the people of the state. However, people have also been disturbed by the restrictions that have been going on for more than three months. According to the government, traders expected the sale of Bakrid to some extent to address their economic woes, which they had stocked their goods long ago in view of it. Trade unions had started protesting and announced that they would open shops in the state ignoring the rules. After which the government decided to give concessions during the festival for a few days.

A bench of Supreme Court Judge RF Nariman and Justice BR Gavai will hear the matter on Tuesday morning. The same bench of the apex court had taken suo motu cognizance of the UP government's decision to conduct the Kanwar yatra after which the Yogi government had to change its decision.
