Mathura: After Ramnagari Ayodhya, now the case of temple mosque in Mathura has reached the court. The court has been approached to remove the royal mosque built near Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. The court has fixed the date of September 30. This information has been revealed by quoting the Mathura Civil Judge. According to the information received so far, a petition has been filed on behalf of Shri Krishna Virajaman and 7 others in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division Chhaya Sharma.
The petition filed in the Supreme Court said that he should be given the ownership of 13.37 acres of the land of Shri Krishna's birthplace and the royal Idgah mosque should be removed. Also, the agreement between Masjid Samiti and Sri Krishna Janmasthana Seva Sansthan has been declared invalid. Significantly, this agreement was made in 1968 between Sri Krishna Janmasthana Seva Sansthan and Shahi Idgah Mosque. According to the agreement, the land the mosque remains in will remain. It has now been argued that the land on which the mosque exists is in the name of Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust. In such a situation, the said agreement is wrong.
What does history say?
In the year 1618, Katra Keshav Dev Temple was built by Raja Vir Singh for 33 lakh rupees. In the year 1670 Aurangzeb partially demolished the temple and built the mosque. Historians state that on 5 April 1770, there was a war between the Marathas and the Mughals at Govardhan, in which the Marathas emerged victorious. After this, the Marathas again renovated the Katra Keshav Dev Temple and removed the mosque. In 1803, the British captured the whole area. In 1815, Raja Patnimal of Varanasi bought this 13.37 acre land at auction. Srikrishna Janmabhoomi Trust was formed on 21 February 1951. The family of Raja Patnimal gave this land to the trust. On October 12, 1968, the said agreement between Sri Krishna Janmasthana Seva Sansthan and Shahi Idgah Masjid Management Committee on the land that the mosque is situated on the land, will remain.
