New Delhi: The apex court will hold a final hearing in August on the Rohingya case. The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked all parties to submit arguments in writing. The court said that the final hearing will be held in August after the submission of the arguments in writing. Besides, a petition seeking identification and evacuation of illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingya infiltrators and migrants will also be heard.

In fact, BJP spokesperson and advocate Ashwini Upadhyay has also filed a petition supporting the Centre's stand to identify more than 40,000 Rohingya Muslims living in India and send them back to Myanmar. The petition also sought the Centre and state governments to identify, detain and send back Bangladeshi nationals and all infiltrators and illegal migrants, including Rohingya.

The petition said that a large number of illegal migrants, especially from Myanmar and Bangladesh, have endangered the demographic structure of border districts. It has also severely affected security and national integration. The petitioner had sought the Centre and the state government to order the identification of all illegal immigrants and infiltrators, including Bangladeshis and Rohingya nationals, to initiate the process of repatriation to their country.
