New Delhi: Prashant Bhushan refused to apologize in the contempt of court case. The court gave the senior advocate time to apologize until 24th August. Today the hearing will be held in the top court again. The Supreme Court on Thursday asked social activist and senior advocate Prashant Bhushan to reconsider his statement for the contempt of court tweet. For this, the court gave time till August 24.

It is expected that the apex court may sentence against senior advocate Prashant Bhushan in contempt of court today. On August 20, the Supreme Court had asked Bhushan to consider his tweet once again and apologize for the tweet made by Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde. On August 14, the court convicted Prashant Bhushan.

Prashant Bhushan said in his statement presented before the court on Monday that "I believe that the apex court is the last bastion of hope for the protection of fundamental rights. The tweets represent his faith and retracting his statements would be a sincere apology". Prashant Bhushan said in court that "My statement was goodwill. If I withdraw my statement before this court, I believe that if I offer an honest apology, then I would be in contempt for my conscience and the institution in which I hold supreme faith".
