Supreme Court stays breach of privilege notice against Jharkhand DGP

New Delhi: The country's largest court has stayed a breach of privilege notice issued against Jharkhand DGP M. Vishnu Vardhan Rao. The notice was issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on a complaint by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey from Godda in Jharkhand against Jharkhand DGP M Vishnu Vardhan Rao.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, in his complaint, had alleged that DGP was using the state's government machinery against him and his family and preventing them from working. The BJP MP had alleged that a false case was being filed against him and he was being prevented from working.  Taking action on the complaint, the Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha had asked deoghar SP to appear on September 8.

The notice was challenged by the Jharkhand DGP in the apex court. The apex court on Tuesday heard the case by a bench comprising Justice L Nageshwar Rao and Hemant Gupta.
