Ahmedabad: For the first time in the history of Gujarat, Surat police filed a chargesheet in the court within 10 days against the accused arrested in connection with the rape of a four-year-old girl, and the court has sentenced the accused to remain in jail till his last breath after hearing for 5 days.

In fact, a four-year-old girl went missing on October 12 from Sachin GIDC police station area of Surat. Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar said that after a 5-hour search by 10 police teams, the girl was found in the bushes behind the industrial park near Ramswar Colony. The girl was unconscious and suffered severe injuries after which she was taken to hospital. Doctors said the girl was raped. The girl also had bruises on her private part.

Police arrested 39-year-old Hanuman alias Ajay Mangi Nishad, accused of rape with the help of CCTV footage. Within 10 days, the police produced the chargesheet in the case before the court, in which 60 eyewitnesses testified before Judge PS Kala of the Special POCSO Court in Surat.
