Patna: Nitish Kumar on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 8th time. At the same time, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took an oath as Deputy Chief Minister. A day earlier, Nitish Kumar had announced his decision to break away from the NDA, accusing the BJP of conspiring to break the JD(U) and after that, he submitted the letter of support of the MLAs to the Governor to form the government with the RJD-Congress.

On the one hand, while the BJP is rattled by Nitish Kumar's move, the party's Rajya Sabha member and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi accused Nitish Kumar and said that the JDU leader had come to the BJP and demanded Nitish Kumar to be made the vice-presidential candidate. Sushil Modi further said that instead, JDU had asked BJP to rule Bihar, but, BJP did not do so because our party had its own candidate. Sushil Modi said that this is why Nitish Kumar has cheated the BJP.

Modi even said that Nitish Kumar will leave the JD(U) and try to break the party by taking advantage of Lalu Yadav's illness. Sushil Modi said that in the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, the alliance did not get votes on the face of Nitish Kumar. Had that been the case, Nitish Kumar's party would not have been reduced to 43 seats and the alliance would have crossed the 150-seat mark.
