Hapur: The ashes of former External Affairs Minister and veteran BJP leader Sushma Swaraj were immersed in the Ganga at Brajghat in Garhmiteshwar today. The former foreign minister's daughter flute immersed the bone with teary eyes. She was accompanied by Sushma's husband Swaraj Kaushal, Minister Suresh Khanna and MP Rajendra Agarwal.
It may be mentioned that Sushma's family had taken the ashes from Lodhi sham ghat on Thursday morning and reached Garhmiteshwar in Hapur. Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was cremated at the crematorium at Lodhi Road on Wednesday. His daughter Flute Sushma completed all the funeral ceremonies. Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, Union Minister Ramdas Athavale, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot are also present at the funeral of Sushma Swaraj.
Earlier, his mortal remains were kept at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters for a final vision. The Upper House also mourned the passing away of Sushma Swaraj. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu read out a condolence letter in the House on the passing away of Sushma and later all the members of the House observed a two-minute silence and paid homage to the late Sushma Swaraj.
