Sushma Swaraj hits out at Mamata Banerjee, says "Crossed All Limits"

On Tuesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said she (Mamata) has crossed all limits. While reacting to Mamata Banerjee's comment where the West Bengal CM said she does not consider Narendra Modi as the country's prime minister, the foreign minister said,

"Mamata Ji, you have crossed all limits. You are the chief minister and Narendra Modi is the country's prime minister. Tomorrow, you will have to talk to him. This reminds me of a couplet by Bashir Badr - Harbour animosity but to the extent that if tomorrow we become friends, you don't have to be ashamed," Sushma Swaraj tweeted.

On Monday, the West Bengal Chief Minister had said that she did not return PM Modi's calls to discuss the effects of Cyclone Fani because she "does not want to share the dais with an expiry PM". "I do not consider him the country's prime minister, hence, I did not sit for the meeting. I do not want to be seen with him on the same platform. I will speak to the next prime minister. We can take care of the cyclone damage by ourselves. We do not need the Centre's help ahead of polls," Mamata Banerjee said at Jhargram rally.

PMO sources told news agency ANI that two attempts were made to connect PM Modi to West Bengal CM without any success. The remarks came after certain sections of media reported that Trinamool Congress is unhappy over PM Modi's dialogue with West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi over Cyclone Fani.
