In fact, she adopted her first daughter Rene at the age of 24 and has now spoken openly about the adoption of her daughters by Sushmita during a recent interview.

Sushmita explained that "the wisest decision that I made at the age of 24 was about to become a mother. It brought a pause in my life. People think I did a very noble job of charity. However, actually, it was self-protection (self-defence). I was also saving myself through this work."

"Being an actress is a challenging task and it's a very self-centred job," Actress added. "You have to do everything for yourself. Sushmita adopted her second daughter Alisha in 2010 nine years ago.
