Lucknow: A75-year-old husband killed a 65-year-old wife in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district. The accused husband suspected his wife's character. When the villagers came to know about this in the morning, the police, who reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem and arrested the accused husband who was hiding under the cot. In fact, the 75-year-old husband hid under the cot after killing his 65-year-old wife in Asothar police station area. In the morning, when the villagers passed by the house, they saw that the woman's body was lying on the cot. After which the villagers reported the incident to the police.
Around 8 pm on Wednesday night, Shivbaran was sleeping in the verandah outside the house after having food. His wife was also sleeping on the cot on the side. He stabbed his wife several times with an axe on her head and neck while she was sleeping, which led to the death of the wife on the spot. On Thursday morning, when the neighbours left, they saw Shivbaran hiding under the cot. When the neighbours approached the cot, they were shocked to see the body of the elderly woman lying. The woman was found to have been stabbed in the neck with a sharp weapon. The villagers informed the police about the incident to the son who was sleeping inside the house, after which the police who reached the spot took the accused husband into custody and took the body for post-mortem.
During interrogation, the accused husband told that the woman used to go to someone's house, then he (husband) used to go with her and every day there was a dispute and assault between the two over the same thing, due to which he came to Aziz and stabbed his wife with a sharp weapon and killed her. They have seven children, of whom five are married. Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh said that in Sarwal village under Asothar police station area, the husband stabbed his wife to death with a sharp weapon, during the course of investigation it was found that he used to suspect his wife, over which he killed his wife. Police have arrested the murdered husband and are in further action.
