Kolkata: BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has demanded an NIA probe into the bomb blast at the house of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) all-India general secretary and CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee in Kanthi in West Bengal's East Medinipur district. According to local sources, the blast took place around 10.30 pm on Friday at Narayvila village under Arjunnagar gram panchayat under the Bhupatinagar police station area of Bhagwanpur-2 block of Kanthi.
Local sources have informed that three people, including the TMC leader, have been killed in the blast, while two others have been seriously injured. According to sources, the name of the slain TMC leader is Rajkumar Manna. Rajkumar is known as the TMC booth president of the area. The other two people killed in the incident were Devkumar Manna and Biswajit Gayen. Both Rajkumar and Devkumar are brothers. According to sources, the other injured have been admitted to a hospital in West Medinipur.

On this, Suvendu Adhikari tweeted, '3 people lost their lives and 2 others were seriously injured due to the explosion at the TMC leader's house in Bhupatinagar of Bhagwanpur II block of East Medinipur district. TMC leader Rajkumar Manna was making a bomb at his house when it exploded. I demand an NIA probe.'' Suvendu Adhikari wrote that 'TMC booth president Rajkumar and 2 others died last evening while making instant bombs, as these bombs were intended to be thrown in Kanthi. The bombs are the most successful cottage industry product of West Bengal and are widely produced in the homes of TMC leaders across Bengal.'
