Varanasi: After the Shivalinga was found inside the disputed Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, the Sant Samaj has now announced to worship the Shivling of Gyanvapi in Kashi. The announcement was made by Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati at Vidya Math at Kedar Ghat on Thursday (June 2, 2022). Swami Avimukteshwaranand Dwarka Shardapeethadheeshwar is a disciple of Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. He says that his guru has ordered him to go to Gyanvapi and worship the Shivlinga.
According to Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati is still in Madhya Pradesh and on the orders of the Guru, he has come to Kashi. On the ongoing controversy over the Shivling found in the Vajukhana of the Gyanvapi complex, he said, "Some people are saying that it has not yet been decided to have a Shivling in the form found in the premises, but we believe that it is not even a Shivling.''
Swami Avimukteshwaranand said that one side is calling it a Shivalinga and the other side is calling it a fountain. This means that both sides are saying the same thing. Shiva is the only deity who holds the Ganga on his shisha. One who does not know about Shiva and his stories or their significance will call the Shivling a fountain. He has said that Vishweshwar Bhagwan himself has appeared in Gyanvapi and now his bathing, makeup, worship and Raag-Bhog are very necessary. The soul of God which is the iconic statue is like a three-year-old child. Just as a 3-year-old child cannot be left alone without bathing, food, etc., so are they.
He further said, "Now that God has appeared, it is our duty to serve Him, otherwise we will be partakers of sin. At the same time, regarding the worship on June 4, the saint said that in our scriptures, Saturday is considered to be the most auspicious day by saying 'Sasthapan Ishtayon Shani-Bhomware'.''
