Lucknow: SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya, who came into controversy due to his comment on Ramcharitmanas, had said a day earlier that he is firm on his statement. After this statement of Swami Prasad Maurya, now his problems are increasing. First, the Samajwadi Party distanced itself from his statement, whereas now the police is also preparing for action.

The same case has been registered against Swami Prasad in Lucknow. A case has been registered against Swami Prasad Maurya at Lucknow's Hazratganj police station for hurting religious sentiments for his comment on Ramcharitmanas. This case has been registered on the complaint of Shivendra Mishra, a resident of Bazar Khala. The police have confirmed that a case has been registered against Swami Prasad Maurya. According to the police, an FIR has been registered against Swami Prasad Maurya under sections 295A, 298, 504 and 153 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It is noteworthy that the Samajwadi Party distanced itself from Swami Prasad Maurya's remarks regarding Ramcharitmanas. Describing Swami Prasad's statement as his personal, Shivpal Yadav said that we are the people who follow the path of Ram and Krishna.

Swami Prasad Maurya also gave clarifications after Samajwadi Party withdraw from the statement. Swami Prasad Maurya also told the statement as a personal opinion and also said that we have not insulted any religion. He had said that he did not insult Lord Shri Ram or Ramcharitmanas. Swami Prasad also said that questions have been raised on some verses of Ramcharitmanas in which Dalits and backward people have been humiliated.
