Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya is facing protests after giving a controversial statement on Shri Ramcharitmanas. Meanwhile, he made a comment against Peethadhishwar of Bageshwar Dham. He described the Katha Vachak Dhirendra Shastri as retarded. He said that he is bankrupt of mind. Earlier, he said on his comment on Ramchiratmanas that he has not said anything objectionable. I stand by my word and will continue to stand by it. He said that if saints, mahants, religious teachers, and big priests don't like abuse, then how will we like abuse? There he said that Akhilesh Yadav is not angry with me. If he was angry with me, he would have said something to me.

Earlier, former minister Swami Prasad Maurya said that only people belonging to a particular caste are opposing him. Pandey, the priests are afraid that if Dalits and backward people unite on my advice, then people will stop coming to the temple, due to which offerings and stomach worship will stop. His business will come to a standstill. SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya had said that several crore people do not read Ramcharitmanas, it is all nonsense. This is written by Tulsidas for his own pleasure.

He said that taking cognizance of this, the government should exclude the objectionable part from Ramcharit Manas or this entire book should be banned. Swami Prasad Maurya said that there are some parts in Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, on which we have objections. Because there is no right to abuse anyone in any religion. Tulsidas's Ramayana has a chaupai. In this, he is giving the certificate of being of low caste to the Shudras. According to the police, an FIR has been registered against Swami Prasad Maurya under sections 295A, 298, 504, and 153 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
