Swami Rama (1925-1996) was born in Himalayas. Swami Rama is especially known as one of the first yogis to allow himself to be studied by western scientists. Swami Rama held the prestigious position of Shankaracharya of Karvirpitham. He has written many books on Spirituality and God. He is termed as a very calm and poised Guru. Here are a few excerpts from his teachings.
1. To achieve purity of mind, one should cultivate constant awareness by being mindful all the time. one should remain always aware of one’s thoughts
2. When you are searching and seeking, you should be doing it honestly with your full strength—not halfheartedly.
3. What is good and what is right, thinking makes it so. surrender the mind for a while to god consciousness, and you will find peace.
4. You should learn to be patient. the quest of the soul helps you, if you persist; then, finally, you will find the light from the distance that dispels the darkness of ignorance. will you please practice?
