Bhopal: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Swami Varagyanand Giri, a former Congress candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, has sought police protection after he proved his prediction of victory as a threat to his life. In fact, Swami Varagyanand Giri is scheduled to visit Bhopal on Sunday (16th June). In view of this, Mirchi Baba, through a lawyer, has sought police protection by informing the collector.
Swami Varagyanand Giri aka Mirchi Baba has expressed doubts that he may have been violently assaulted in Bhopal. On the other hand, BJP workers had written to the collector accusing Baba of playing with the sentiments of Hinduism. Swami Varagyanand Giri will reach Bhopal airport at 7:30 am on Sunday morning. He will then offer prayers at the Bhojpur Shiva Temple.
Baba Varagyanand will then meet the collector at 12:30 p.m. to decide on the Samadhi. Mirchi Baba had announced to take the Brahmalin Samadhi at Havan-Kund on 16th June and sought permission from the District Magistrate for the same. However, the District Magistrate refused to grant permission to Varagyanand and directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) to make security arrangements for Varagyanand.
