He said that after the title in Indonesia last year, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had promised her a piece of land which has not been completed till now. To facilitate training, Swapna, born in Jalpaiguri, was promised land in Saltlake near the eastern centre of the Sports Authority of India

"I want to know if CM is aware that despite her promise, I have been denied land. Swapna said, I was given only 10 lakh rupees and the house for rent, for which I am paying four thousand rupees rent from my pocket. It is very frustrating". Swapna gave the example of Soma Biswas, the silver medalist of the 2002 Asian Games, who was given the land by the government at that time, besides archers Dola Banerjee, table tennis player Mouma Das and Polomi Ghatak and swimmer Bula Chaudhary.
