Kochi: Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair have been detained in Kerala for smuggling gold from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Both were brought to Kochi and will be produced before the court at 6 pm. Two weeks of police custody can be sought from the NIA court.

Let us tell you that Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair were staying in a hotel located in BTM Layout of Bangalore. Both used a credit card in the hotel. Through which the NIA came to know the location of both. On Friday, the NIA had registered a case under Section 16, 17, 18 of the UAPA in this case. In this case, the NIA had accused Swapna Suresh, Sarith, Fazil Farid and Sandeep Nair as the main accused.

After examining the documents and evidence of the NIA, it is known that this was not the first time. Even earlier, Swapna had taken advantage of diplomatic relations. The FIR has the names of four accused, out of which three have been arrested. Only Faizal Farid is still missing. He could be the gold supplier of both the accused in the UAE. There is also a UAE Consulate in India on the NIA target. However, as of now, the formula of the two workings in the UAE Consulate has not been disclosed. Sources say that this kind of work cannot be done without connection in UAE Consulate.
