According to Bloomberg's vaccination tracker, the Alpine nation has issued 9.51 million vaccine shots, enough to cover 55.6 percent of the population. This is one of Europe's lowest vaccination rates among big economies.

In an interview with NZZ, Health Minister Alain Berset suggested that mobile vaccination efforts should be enhanced. Berset stated, "The cantons must send out a lot more mobile immunization teams." Travel restrictions, such as enforced quarantines for returning passengers, might be reinstated, according to the federal councilor.
