Indian shuttlers Saurabh Verma and Rituparna Das entered the semi-finals of the Syed Modi International Badminton Tournament on Friday but Kidambi Srikanth lost in the quarterfinal. According to information from sources, now 26-year-old Saurabh will face Korea's Hyo Kwong Hee to make it to the men's singles final. However, the third seed Srikanth's struggle continued and his challenge ended with his loss to former world number one Son Son Ho. At the same time, they faced 18-21 19-21 defeat, which is their seventh defeat in 11 clashes against this seventh seeded Korean player.
Let us tell you that in the women's singles, former national champion Rituparna defeated Shruti Mundada 24-26 21-10 21-19 in the quarter-finals between the Indian players. On the other hand, Rituparna will now face Thailand's Phitaporn Chiwon. In the women's doubles event, Kuhu Garg and Anushka Parikh were eliminated from the tournament, losing 15-21, 9-21 to Hong Kong's Ng Wing Yung and Yeung Enga Ting. Earlier, the pair of Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker also lost in another quarterfinal match.
