INDORE: : India head coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday said that team will absolutely miss the services of Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 but added that it is an opportunity for someone else to stand up in the absence of premier pacer in Australia.

India was dealt a very big blow going into the T20 World Cup with Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the tournament with a back injury on Monday. The decision was taken after a detailed assessment after he was ruled out of the South Africa T20Is.

"Bumrah's absence is a big loss because he was a great player, but things happen and it gives someone else a chance to shine. We will miss him, and we will definitely miss his personality in the group "Dravid said this in an interview after the third T20I, which India lost to South Africa by 49 runs. Dravid said that moving Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant up in the batting order was a chance to give these two players more time in the middle.

"I think that today was a good time to let these guys hit. Guys like Dinesh and Rishabh who don't get hit much in the middle have a hard time. At one point, I thought they were hitting really well. If they had played longer, we might have been able to catch up "he said. "I think it's hard to bat at number 6 when you only get to hit 5–10 balls, so it's good that they got to hit a few balls today. I also liked the way Harshal and the rest of the lower order batted "he added.

The coach was happy with how the two home T20I series against Australia and South Africa turned out as a whole. "I think it's good that both of these home series wins have gone well. In this kind of game, you need luck to be on your side, which didn't happen in the Asia Cup "he added. The 49-year-old said that India's aggressive style of batting was a decision made after the last T20 World Cup.

"After the last Twenty20 World Cup, we got together as a team and decided to play more positively. We think we have the skills to play more aggressively as a group, and we've been able to do that without getting out too often," he said.

Before the World Cup, the man who used to lead India also had a message for fans.
