New Delhi: Foreign nationals belonging to Tablighi Jamaat, located in the country's capital, Delhi, have filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday. These foreign tabloids have challenged the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs to blacklist them in the Supreme Court. In the petition, seven foreign citizens have termed this move of the Ministry of Home Affairs as unconstitutional.

The petition said that this decision of the central government is unconstitutional because neither they were given any notice nor their side was heard before blacklisting. In fact, on April 2, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) had informed the government's decision to blacklist 960 foreigners from 35 countries, who were present in India at that time. Along with this, the Home Ministry had issued orders to the DGP of all the states and union territories as well as the Delhi Police Commissioner to register an FIR against these foreign nationals.

The petitioners have also stated that after this decision, on 4 April, the government blacklisted 2500 foreigners present in India from traveling to India for a period of 10 years, but no release was issued about it. The petition has sought to repeal this decision.
