New Delhi: India on Thursday (April 6) strongly condemned the attack and vandalism on a major Hindu temple in Ontario, Canada. She also demanded strict action against the culprits. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi has said that the matter has been taken up with the Canadian authorities. In fact, some anti-social elements vandalised the Swaminarayan temple in Ontario. Not only this, but anti-Hindu and anti-India slogans were also written on the walls of the temple.
According to the report, Arindam Bagchi has said that we strongly condemn this incident. Bagchi said that regarding this matter, we have asked the Canadian authorities to take action by catching the culprits and also ensuring that such incidents do not happen further. At the same time, Arindam Bagchi expressed confidence, saying that we hope that the Canadian authorities are capable of taking action against such chaotic elements.
Let us tell you that in January, a similar incident of vandalism came to the fore at the Gaurishankar temple in Brampton. Last year, three such incidents were registered in Canada. Bagchi said that there have also been incidents of vandalism in India's diplomatic premises in London and some other places. He said that New Delhi has made it clear to the governments that it expects them to protect the premises and ensure the safety of the personnel.
