Panjsheer captured by Taliban? Reports of Amrullah Saleh's exodus went viral

Kabul: The Taliban, a terror group, claimed on Friday that they have also captured Panjsheer. He said he had defeated Panjsheer Resistance. We have captured the whole of Afghanistan, Reuters quoted Taliban sources as saying. We have defeated those who were opposing us here. Now Panjsheer is in our possession. However, resistance leaders claim that the war is still going on here.

It may be recalled that for the last four days, there has been a fierce battle between the Taliban and the Resistance Forces in Panjsheer. The war had become so fierce on Thursday night that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had to appeal to both sides for peace. Meanwhile, there were also reports of Panjsheer Resistance leader Amrullah Saleh fleeing to Tajikistan. However, Amrullah later claimed in a video that he was in Panjsheer and the war was going on here.

Meanwhile, a Twitter account belonging to Panjsheer leader Ahmed Masood has also claimed that the news about the Taliban's occupation of Panjsheer in Pakistan media is false. He has written that Panjsheer will be controlled by resistance forces. Several other reports also claim that the Taliban has joined hands with the terror group al-Qaida to capture Panjsheer. Al-Arabiya channel has reported that al-Qaida militants are joining the Taliban to attack Panjsheer.
