Kabul: On Wednesday, the Taliban regime in Afghanistan will review the country's economic situation. As per reports, a one-day conference titled "Economy of Afghanistan" is being held in Kabul.

The government will discuss the economy for the first time since the Taliban took power on August 15, last year. Acting Prime Minister Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund is expected to lead the meeting, which will be broadcast live on the state-run RTA channel.

The 'conference will be inaugurated by second Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salaam Hanafi and will be completed by a speech by first Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar,' according to a release. The acting Prime Minister is unlikely to say anything.

It is unclear who else will be attending the conference or whether foreigners will be allowed to attend; however, it has previously been said that foreigners will be allowed to participate. The economic conference takes place as Afghanistan is on the verge of economic collapse and is experiencing the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
