Kabul: The Taliban in Afghanistan will announce its new government today. Mullah Baradar may be handed over the responsibility of the new Taliban government. Reuters made the claim on Friday. Reuters quoted the Taliban as claiming that the Taliban will form its new government in Kabul on Friday and Mullah Baradar will lead the government.

Mullah Mohammad Jacob, son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanqzai will also be given major positions in the Taliban government. It may be recalled that the Taliban has been preparing for a long time to form a new government in Kabul. Decorations continue at Kabul's presidential palace, new flags are being prepared and new videos have been released recently. Born in 1968, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is the second leader of the Taliban. Mullah Baradar is counted among the founders of the Taliban. Mullah Baradar played an important role when the Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.

However, after 2001, when the US entered Afghanistan, Mullah Baradar fled to Pakistan. In 2010, Pakistan jailed Mullah Baradar, who was accused of trying to talk to the Afghan government without keeping Pakistan in the loop.
