Tamil Govt releases schedule for Class 10,12 exam after 2 yrs of break

CHENNAI: Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the Tamil Nadu school education minister, announced on Wednesday that the board exams for Class 12 students will begin on May 5. He said that exams for Class 11 students will begin on May 9 and those for Class 10 students will begin on May 6.

During a press conference, the minister stated, "The public exams for students in Class 12 will be held from May 5 to May 28. Class 11 public examinations will take place from May 9 to May 31, while Class 10 public examinations will take place from May 6 to May 30." He also stated that practical examinations for Classes 10, 11, and 12 will begin on April 25.

It should be emphasised that due to the epidemic, public exams have not been held for the past two years.

The Minsiteri went on to say, "The public exam results for Class 12 students will be released tentatively on June 23. Class 10 students will receive their results on June 17, while Class 11 students will receive their results on July 7." The results may be announced somewhat earlier or later than these dates.  "I'd want to restate what the Chief Minister mentioned to the students about the importance of taking the exams. Allow them to enjoy their studies and write their tests to their satisfaction." Final exams for Class 6 to 9 in government-aided and matriculation schools following the state common board syllabus will be held from May 5 to May 13 in government-aided and matriculation schools, said the minister.
